How to replace the Audio Board on a OptiPlex AIOPlus7420

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Audio Board and a OptiPlex AIOPlus7420. The procedure will also include removing the Stand, Back Cover, System Board Shield, I/O Cover, Bottom Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Stand

Identify the stand highlighted in blue.

Press and hold down on the tab that secures the stand to the display assembly base.

Slide and lift the stand off the display assembly base.

Back Cover

Identify the back cover highlighted in blue.

Press down on the tab and slide the back cover to release.

Lift the back cover off the display assembly base.

System Board Shield

Identify the system board shield highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the system board shield to the display assembly base.

Lift the system board shield off the display assembly base.

I/O Cover

Identify the I/O cover highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display assembly base.

Lift the I/O cover off the display assembly base.

Bottom Cover

Identify the bottom cover highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the bottom cover to the display assembly base.

Lift the bottom cover off the display assembly base.

Audio Board

Identify the audio board highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the audio board shield to the display assembly base.

Lift the audio board shield off the display assembly base.

Open the latch and disconnect the audio cable from the audio board.

Disconnect the speaker cable from the audio board.

Remove the screws that secure the audio board to the display assembly base.

Lift the audio board off the display assembly base.

Install

Audio Board

Identify the audio board location highlighted in blue.

Place the audio board on the display assembly base.

Install the screws that secure the audio board to the display assembly base.

Connect the audio cable to the audio board and close the latch to secure.

Connect the speaker cable to the audio board.

Place the audio board shield on the display assembly base.

Install the screws that secure the audio board shield to the display assembly base.

Bottom Cover

Identify the bottom cover location highlighted in blue.

Place the bottom cover on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.

Install the screws that secure the bottom cover to the display assembly base.

I/O Cover

Identify the I/O cover location highlighted in blue.

Align the I/O slots with the I/O ports, then place the I/O cover on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.

Install the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display assembly base.

System Board Shield

Identify the system board shield location highlighted in blue.

Place the system board shield on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.

Install the screws that secure the system board shield to the display assembly base.

Back Cover

Identify the back cover location highlighted in blue.

Align the back cover to the display assembly base.

Place and slide the back cover into place on the display assembly base.

Stand

Identify the stand location highlighted in blue.

At an angle, align the tabs on the stand with the slots on the display assembly base.

Slide the stand into place into the slot on the display assembly base.
