Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Gently pry the base cover from the gap around the screw holes on the bottom and sides to release.
Slide the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable (Disconnect)
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Turn over the computer and press the power button for 15 seconds to drain the flea power.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the palm rest.
Lift the battery off the palm rest.
Rear I/O cover
Identify the rear I/O cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the rear I/O cover. Screws are accessed in rear.
Lift the latch and disconnect the tron light cables from the system board.
Slide the rear I/O cover off the back of the system. Use the rubber feet to push evenly from both sides.
Power Adapter port
Identify the power adapter port highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power adapter port bracket.
Remove the screw that secures the power adapter port bracket.
Lift the power adapter port bracket off the palm rest.
Disconnect the power adapter port from the system board.
Peel the power adapter port cable from the system board and fan.
Remove the power adapter port from the system.
Headset port
Identify the headset port highlighted in blue.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the I/O board cable from the system board.
Peel the I/O board cable off the headset port cable.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the headset port cable from the system board.
Peel the headset port cable off the heatsink and fan assembly.
Lift the headset port to remove from the system.
Left fan
Identify the left fan highlighted in blue.
Unroute the speaker and antenna cables from the routing guides along the fan.
Disconnect the left fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the system.
Lift the fan to remove.
Right fan
Identify the right fan highlighted in blue.
Peel the tape that secures the antenna cable to the palm rest.
Unroute the antenna cable from the routing guides along the fan.
Disconnect the right fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the right fan to the palm rest.
Lift the fan to remove.
Heat pipe
Identify the heat pipe highlighted in blue. Ensure system is cool before removal.
Disconnect the power adapter port from the system board.
Peel the power adapter port cable off the system board and fan.
Peel the tape that secures the display cable connector latch to the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the heat pipe to the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the heat pipe to the system board.
Lift the heat pipe off the system board. Do not touch the heat transfer areas.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Peel the tape that secures the camera cable connector latch to the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the camera cable from the system board.
Move the camera cable off the system board.
Lift and latch and disconnect the power button cable from the system board.
Disconnect the speakers cable from the system board.
Lift the latch and use the tab to disconnect the keyboard controller board cable.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Lift the wireless card bracket off the system board.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless card on the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the system board.
Remove the screw that secures the system board.
Holding the top left and right sides, lift the system board assembly to remove.
Power button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power button bracket to the palm rest.
Lift the power button bracket off the palm rest.
Peel the power button cable off the palm rest
Lift the power button and its cable off the palm rest.
Install
Power button
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Install the power button into its slot on the palm rest.
Install the power button bracket over the power button.
Install the screws that secure the power button bracket.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Install the system board assembly using the alignment posts. Ensure the power button cable is clear.
Install the screw that secures the system board.
Install the four screws that secure the system board and heat sink assembly to the palm rest.
Connect the black cable to the connector marked "AUX" or the filled triangle.
Connect the gray cable to the connector marked "MAIN" or the empty triangle.
Install the wireless card bracket and align the screw holes.
Install the screw that secures the wireless card bracket.
Connect the keyboard controller board cable. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
Connect the power button cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Route the camera cable through the notch on the system board.
Align the pins and connect the camera cable. Close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tape that secures the camera cable connector latch to the system board.
Heat pipe
Identify the heat pipe location highlighted in blue.
Install the heat pipe on the system board. Do not touch the heat transfer areas.
Install the screws that secure the heat pipe to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the heat pipe to the system board.
Connect the display cable to the system board and close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tape that secures the display cable connector latch to the system board.
Adhere the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Connect the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Right fan
Identify the right fan location highlighted in blue.
Install the fan into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the system
Connect the right fan cable to the system board.
Route the antenna cable through the routing guides on the fan.
Adhere the tape that secures the antenna cable to the palm rest.
Left fan
Identify the left fan location highlighted in blue.
Install the fan into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the system
Connect the left fan cable to the system board.
Route the speaker and antenna cables through the routing guides on the fan.
Headset port
Identify the headset port location highlighted in blue.
Install the headset port into the slot on the palm rest.
Adhere the headset port cable and route the cable along the fan.
Connect the headset port cable to the system board.
Adhere the I/O board cable to the headset port cable and system board.
Connect the I/O board cable to the system board.
Power Adapter port
Identify the power adapter port location highlighted in blue.
Install the power adapter port into the slot on the system.
Adhere the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Connect the power adapter port cable to the system board.
Install the power adapter port bracket.
Install the screws that secure the power adapter port bracket.
Install the screw that secures the power adapter port bracket.
Rear I/O cover
Identify the rear I/O cover location highlighted in blue.
Position the rear I/O cover and slide into place. Ensure the Tron light cables are clear.
Install the screws that secure the rear I/O cover to the palm rest.
Connect the Tron light cables to the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery into the slot and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the battery.
Battery Cable (Disconnect)
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the top of the base cover into place, aligning the tabs and screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws on the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
