Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
Gently pry the base cover from the gap around the screw holes on the bottom and sides to release.
Slide the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable (Disconnect)
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Turn over the computer and press the power button for 15 seconds to drain the flea power.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the palm rest.
Lift the battery off the palm rest.
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch, use the tab to disconnect the touchpad cable from the touchpad and peel the cable.
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad to the palm rest.
At an angle, slide and lift the touchpad assembly to remove. Careful of the keyboard cable.
Install
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad location highlighted in blue.
Peel and move the keyboard cable off the touchpad.
At an angle, install the touchpad into the slot. Careful of the keyboard cable.
Install the screws that secure the touchpad to the palm rest.
Connect the touchpad cable to the touchpad and adhere the cable. Close the latch to secure.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery into the slot and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the battery.
Battery Cable (Disconnect)
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the top of the base cover into place, aligning the tabs and screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws on the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover.
