Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Starting at the bottom left corner, carefully pry the base cover along the bottom and sides.
Grasp the bottom and rotate it upwards to release the base cover from the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Use the tab to assist in disconnecting the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Unroute the WLAN antennas from the routing guides on the battery.
Remove the screws that secure the battery.
Slightly lift the battery at an angle and slide to remove from the system
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Right Fan
Identify the right fan highlighted in blue
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the right fan.
Lift and slide to remove the fan from the system.
Left Fan
Identify the left fan highlighted in blue
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the left fan.
Lift and slide to remove the fan from the system.
Speakers
Identify the speaker highlighted in blue.
Use the tabs to disconnect the left and right speaker cables from the system board.
Peel the left and right tweeter speakers from the slots on the system
Unroute the tweeter speakers cables from the routing guides on the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the speakers to the system
Lift to remove the left and right speakers from the system
Smart-card reader
Identify the smart card reader highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the smart card reader cable from the USH board.
Peel the smart card reader cable from the palmrest.
Remove the screws that secure the smart card reader to the system
Slide and lift to remove the smart card reader.
Audio jack
Identify the audio jack highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the right USB Type-C bracket to the system board.
Lift to remove the right USB Type-C bracket from the system board.
Disconnect the audio jack cable from its connector on the system board.
Remove the screw that secures the audio jack.
Lift to remove the audio jack from the system.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board highlighted in blue
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the display cable.
Disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Holding by the edges, remove the interposer board.
Loosen the captive screw securing the WLAN bracket on the system board.
Lift to remove the WLAN bracket from the system board.
Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables and unroute them from metal clips
Lift the latch and disconnect the battery LED and power button cables.
Unroute the left and right tweeter speakers from their routing guides on the system
Peel the left and right tweeter speakers from their compartments on the system
Disconnect the left and right speaker cables from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the left USB Type-C bracket on the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the system
Remove the system board from the system
WLAN antennas
Identify the WLAN antennas highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the auxiliary & main antenna on the system
Peel the adhesives securing the auxiliary and main antennas to the system
Unroute the auxiliary and main antennas from the routing guides on the system
Lift to remove the auxiliary and main antennas from the system
Power Button with FPR
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the display cable.
Disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Holding by the edges, remove the interposer board.
Remove the screws that secure the display assembly to the system
Slide the palm rest slightly left and then away to remove it from the display assembly.

Palm rest Assembly
After all the parts are removed, the palmrest is remaining.
Install
Palm rest Assembly
Identify the palmrest and place on a clean, flat surface.
Display Assembly
Place the display assembly on a clean and flat surface.
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the palm rest assembly by sliding in and slightly to the right to align the screw holes.
Install the screws to secure the display assembly hinges.
Holding by the edges, use the alignment posts to install the interposer board.
Connect the display cable. Tuck the cable in until the white line lines up with the edge of the system board.
Using a Torx 5, install the screws that secure the display cable.
Power Button with FPR
WLAN antennas
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the auxiliary and main antennas into its slot on the system
Route the auxiliary and main antennas using the routing guides on the system
Adhere the tapes securing the auxiliary and main antennas to the system
Tighten the captive screws that secure the main & auxiliary antenna on the system
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue
Install the system board on the palmrest, using the alignment posts. Ensure all cables are clear.
Install the screws to secure the system board to the system
Install the screws that secure the left USB Type-C bracket to the system board.
Adhere the left and right tweeter speakers to their compartments on the system
Reroute the left and right tweeter speakers cables using the routing guides on the system
Connect the left and right speaker cables to the system board.
Connect the battery LED and power button cables. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the WLAN antenna black cable to the auxiliary (filled triangle).
Connect the WLAN antenna white cable to the main (empty triangle).
Install the WLAN bracket and align the screw hole.
Tighten the captive screw to secure the WLAN bracket on the system board.
Holding by the edges, use the alignment posts to install the interposer board.
Connect the display cable. Tuck the cable in until the white line lines up with the edge of the system board.
Using a Torx 5, install the screws that secure the display cable.
Audio jack
Identify the audio jack location highlighted in blue
Install the audio jack in its slot on the system and align the screw hole.
Connect the audio jack cable to its connector on the system board.
Install the screw to secure the audio jack to the system board.
Align and place the right USB Type-C bracket on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the right USB Type-C bracket to the system board.
Smart-card reader
Identify the smart card reader location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the smart card reader into the slot on the palm rest.
Install the screws to secure the smart card reader in place.
Adhere the smart card reader cable to the palmrest.
Connect the smart card reader cable to the USH board.
Speakers
Identify the speaker location highlighted in blue.
Align and install the left and right speakers into the slots on the system.
Replace the screws that secure the left and right speakers to the system
Connect the speaker cables to the system board.
Route the tweeter speakers cables using the routing guides on the system board.
Adhere the tweeter speakers into the slots on the system.
Left Fan
Identify the left fan location highlighted in blue
Install the fan into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the system board.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Right Fan
Identify the right fan location highlighted in blue
Install the fan into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the system board.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the battery.
Route the WLAN antennas using the routing guides on the battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover. (requires Torx #5)
