Network & Information Security Directive (NIS2)
The enforcement of Network & Information Security Directive (NIS2) on 17 October 2024 aims to improve the overall level of cybersecurity in the EU. Businesses, in a range of sectors, will need to examine their security practices and understand the gaps around cyber risk management reporting and information-sharing obligations. Directive (EU) 2022/2555 (known as NIS2) replaces directive (EU) 2016/1148 (known as NIS). The NIS2 Directive strengthens security requirements in the EU and it It expands its scope to more sectors and entities.

The Digital Operations Resilience Act (DORA) in the EU has been enacted to ensure financial organizations strengthen their security posture and exposure to risk. It will come into effect on 17 January 2025. DORA is a regulatory framework that lists specific requirements for boosting digital operational resilience in the financial sector. Now is the time to prepare for DORA as financial entities and their critical third-party technology service providers will have to abide by the regulation by 2025.
