• FLASH STORAGE BASICS

Flash storage uses flash memory as a storage media. This delivers tremendous performance increases compared to traditional spinning hard disk drives and also provides dramatically lower operational costs. Typically, the I/O capability of Flash SSDs is 10X faster than spinning drives, with lower data access times and less latency than hard disks. Furthermore, because there are no moving parts, flash storage is much more reliable, and power utilization and heat production are much lower than with hard disk drives.

Dell offers a wide flash storage portfolio, from our first-to-market hybrid storage arrays to XtremIO, the industry leading all-flash storage array.
