GoalControl’s 4-D solution works with 14 rooftop mounted cameras capturing 500 images per second. Data is then transmitted via fibre optic networking channels to rack servers which analyse data and provide a Goal or No Goal judgement wirelessly to the referee’s watch as an optical and vibration signal. The Dell Precision workstations use the positioning data gathered by the servers to create automatic virtual replay sequences which are then transmitted to the broadcaster.
