To check if the touchpad settings are causing the issue, let's disable the touchpad. Click on the Windows start button to search for an open touchpad settings. Set the switch next to touch pad to off.
To re-enable the touch pad, set the switch to on. You can also adjust the touchpad sensitivity settings to see if that resolves your issue. In the touchpad settings window, select taps. Next to touchpad sensitivity, select either most sensitive, high sensitivity, medium sensitivity, or low sensitivity.
Then go into the Bluetooth and Devices section on the left menu and select mouse. Set the mouse pointer speed to the max and check for erratic pointer movement.
