In this video, we demonstrate how to create and manage credential profiles and account credentials. Account credentials are required to add the device, collect telemetry, and perform device specific functions. A credential profile is a collection of account credentials for multiple device types.
Now, let’s create account credentials for some device types. To begin, go to Manage credential in the Device Management menu and click Add credentials. Enter a name for the credentials. Select the device type. Note, the inputs you are required to enter vary depending on the device type you select. Enter the required inputs and click Save. You can save multiple accounts for the same device type.
Now, let’s create a credential profile with the account credentials that we just created. To begin, go to Manage credentials in the Device Management menu and click Create profile. Enter a name for the profile. Select the device type that you want to include in the profile and select the corresponding account credentials. Note that you can select only one account credential for a device type while creating a profile.
You can also create a new account credential while creating the profile. Click Create. If an incorrect credential profile is assigned while inventorying the device or if the account credentials for the device is not available in the profile, inventory validation fails for the device.
To resolve this, you must manually assign the correct credential profile or edit the account credentials. For more information or support about secure connect gateway, visit the links provided in the video description.
