No post stands for no power on self-test. This means that the power on self-test process, which occurs immediately after pressing the power button, cannot fully complete. The fans can be heard, but nothing is displayed on the screen. Beeps are heard and the LED lights are blinking in a repetitive pattern. Common causes include a bad connection between components or defective hardware.

Perform a hard reset on your PC. Shut down the computer and disconnect any external peripherals. If you own a laptop, unplug the power cord and then remove the battery. You should consult your laptop's manual to learn how to properly remove the battery. If you have a desktop, you just need to unplug the power cord. Press the power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power.
Afterwards, reinsert the battery for the laptop, and connect the AC adapter. For desktops, reconnect the power cord. Now turn on the computer and test the keyboard to see if it responds properly.
Are you still having issues? Try this. Try resetting the real-time clock. Note that not all models will have this option available.
Power off the computer and connect the system to a power outlet. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. After releasing the power button, the system will restart several times. After the reset is complete, the Dell splash screen will indicate the reset was a success.
