In this video, we show how to replace the M.2 2230 Solid-State drive or SSD on a Latitude 7350. Ensure that you always use ESD protection when working inside the computer. Before you begin, create a recovery drive and backup all data and disconnect all attached peripherals Then enter service mode. To enter service mode, press and hold the B key and then press the power button.
The computer will boot up and the owner tag information is displayed on the screen. Press any key to proceed. The computer will emit three short beeps and shut down. Before removing the base cover, Ensure that there is no SD card inserted in your computer. Loosen the eight captive screws securing the base cover to the palmrest and keep assembly. Then use a plastic scribe to pry the base cover starting from the recesses at the top edge. Pry open the top side and then lift it off the chassis.
To remove the SSD. First remove the screw to release the SSD shielding cover from the system board. Using a flathead tool, pry open the cover from the recessed on the bottom side and remove it from the system board. Now remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board, then slide and remove the SSD from the slot. To install the SSD, align and slide into the slot. Replace the screw that secures it to the system board. Now replace the SSD shielding cover.
Align it with the screw hole on the system board and secure it with the screw To install the base cover, align the base cover with the screw holes and snap it to the palmrest and keyboard assembly Then tighten the eight captive screws to secure it in place. Now connect the power adapter. Finally, press the power button to turn on the computer and exit service mode. Please note the computer will only power on if the power adapter is connected.
