How to use the Macro Keys on an Alienware System

Macros are sets of instructions that can be programmed to do a certain function when pressing a specific key or set of keys. Alienware laptops and Alienware Keyboards come with a few specific keys available to assign macros to them.

This video will show you how to create and use macros on your Alienware system using the “AlienFX” tab in Command Center. Key binding assigns a set of instructions to a single key for a specific task.

There are four different key binding categories. “KEYSTROKE” assigns a particular keystroke to another key on the Alienware keyboard. “MACRO” creates complex macros, records actions, and assigns keystroke combinations to them.

Click “Record” and “Stop” to start and stop recording the macro. “SHORTCUT” allows you to enter a shortcut to a program folder or website.
