First, let's check if the touchpad is present in settings. Click on the Windows start button and type touchpad settings into the search bar. Open the result. Make sure the touchpad switch under Bluetooth and devices is present and switched on. Next, check if the touchpad driver is installed and detected in Windows 11.
Click on the Windows start button to search for and open Device Manager. Under human interface devices, check if the HID compliant touchpad is listed. If the touchpad drivers are missing, you'll need to install the latest driver. Open a web browser and go to Dell.com/Support.
Identify your system by typing in the service tag to the search bar. Select drivers and downloads and then click select drivers. Choose your operating system accordingly and set the category as mouse, keyboard, and input devices. Scroll down, check the box next to Intel HID event filter driver, and click on selected for download. When the driver details page is displayed, scroll down and click on download.
Open the file when it finishes downloading and accept any confirmation prompts. Click on install and follow the instructions to install the driver. A restart may be required to finish the process.
