Reset Real Time Clock

This guide explains how to reset the real-time clock (RTC) on your Dell computer. Simply hold down the power button for 30 seconds while the computer is off, and the system will restart to complete the reset process.

To reset the real time clock, turn off the computer, but leave the AC adapter plugged in. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds. The real-time clock reset will occur after you release the power button.

The system will restart several times. The Dell logo screen will indicate a successful reset. Note that holding the power button for longer than 40 seconds will abort the RTC reset.
