Check if you're able to toggle on or off the cap's lock key. If not, look for the following symptoms. The system powers on but has no video or is not able to get past the Dell screen.
The caps lock key does not light up when toggled. The hard drive activity light is off steadily blinking or solid. Diagnostic codes such as the power button off, flashing a repeating code, or solid with the numeric code in LEDs, or audible beeps in a repeating code.
