Symptoms

Unable to add a new NetWorker client machine into the NetWorker Management Console due to error "new page map is wrong size."

Issue occurs in the NMC when using the FQDN, short name, and or IP Address of the client machine.

Cause

DNS and or the local hosts files have incorrect entries.

Resolution

Check the DNS forward and reverse lookup for incorrect entries of the NetWorker Client machine; hostname, IP addresses, so forth.

Check the local hosts files on the NetWorker Server, NMC machine, and NetWorker Client machines for incorrect hostname, IP addresses, so forth.

On the NetWorker Server, run:

  1. Ping Client_IP_Address
  2. Ping Client_Hostname
  3. nslookup Client_IP_Address
  4. nslookup Client_Hostname

Fix:
Correct the DNS entries for the Client machines.

Workaround:
Use correct hosts files entries on the NetWorker Server, NMC machine, and Client machines as a workaround.

NOTE: If it is an Exchange DAG, SQL Cluster, so forth check the DNS entries for all nodes in the Cluster and the Cluster name itself.
