Symptoms
Gen3 EX3000 racks in Single-Node configurations have two Expanders per node. Each Expander has its own firmware versions. This KB is written to address a potential firmware mismatch between the two Expander components in some EX3000 racks.
Cause
Some Gen3 EX3000 racks were shipped with different Expander firmware versions.
Resolution
- Dell Technologies is proactively reaching out to impacted customers to address the Expander firmware mismatch and to schedule the activity.
- Dell Services Remote Proactive or Field teams perform the resolution.
- Resolution consists of bringing the two Expanders to the same Firmware version.
- Resolution takes approximately one hour per node. The resolution is performed node by node to avoid downtime.
