IDPA: DD Virtual Edition Shows Unsupported Virtual Hardware Configuration for Memory

Symptoms
An active alert for an Unsupported virtual hardware configuration is observed in the Data Domain CLI.
sysadmin@dd-4400# alerts show current-detailed Alert Id p0-12 Post Time Thu Jan 26 18:48:27 2023 Severity CRITICAL Class Environment Object Component=Memory Message Unsupported virtual hardware configuration. Additional Information Cause=Memory reservation must be 81920 MB at least! Event Id EVT-ENVIRONMENT-00040 Event Name UnsupportedHardwareConfig Description Unsupported virtual machine hardware configuration was detected. This configuration may cause unexpected behavior. Action Fix the hardware configuration to resolve the problem. If problem persists, restart the system.From the Integrated Data Protection Appliance vCenter, DDVE shows the correct amount of memory configured (80 GB).
Cause
The issue is caused during deployment of DDVE, Reserve all guest memory (All locked) is not selected.
Resolution
To address the issue:
- Open Integrated Data Protection Appliance vCenter UI, then right click DDVE, and select Edit Settings.
- In Memory, select Reserve all guest memory (All locked) option and Save the setting.
- Clear the event from the Data Domain CLI with the command:
alerts clear alert-id p0-<id>.
