Avamar: How to change Avamar Virtual Edition (AVE) RAM and CPU configuration

The below are the recommended requirements that can be found in the Avamar Virtual Edition (AVE) Installation Guide:

In specific requirements, an AVE may need specific configurations such as number of processors or RAM size. It is possible to increase Memory size and number of processors even after the AVE is deployed.

The Following steps can be followed to adjust these configurations for the AVE:

  1. Log in to the vSphere Web Client
  2. Locate the Avamar AVE Virtual Machine (VM).
  3. "Right Click" on the VM
  4. Power --> Shut Down Guest OS

  1. "Right Click" on the VM --> Edit Settings
  2. Change CPU and RAM configuration
