Microsoft Windows LDAP not supported as a LDAP authentication server in the DataDomain

Microsoft Windows LDAP is not supported with stand-alone LDAP authentication configuration in older DD OS versions on the DataDomains.
On DD OS Versions older than 7.6:
1) LDAP authentication servers with OpenLDAP and Oracle LDAP are supported.
2) Windows Active Directory configured through "cifs set authentication" process as described in the DDOS Administration Guide is supported.
3) Local user authentication is also supported.
4) Standalone LDAP with Microsoft Windows without the use of AD authentication is not supported. (review details in KB listed below)
On DD OS version 7.6 and newer.
1) LDAP authentication servers with OpenLDAP and Oracle LDAP are still supported.
2) Windows Active Directory configured through "cifs set authentication" process as described in the DDOS Administration Guide is supported.
3) Local user authentication is also supported.
4) Standalone LDAP with Microsoft Windows without the use of AD authentication is supported but review the prerequisites discussed in the following Knowledge Article Data Domain: How to configure DDOS LDAPs "type active-directory" for DD CLI, GUI login with AD user?
