Avamar: How to register a Windows Avamar client using the command-line interface (CLI)

Instructions

Command Usage: avregister MCSNAME [DOMAIN]

Where:

  • MCSNAME is the IP or name of the Avamar Utility Node.
  • DOMAIN is the target Avamar domain where the register shall be registered.


Example: 

C:\Program Files\avs\bin>avregister 10.x.x.12 /clients
C:\Program Files\avs\bin>avagent --quiet --init --daemon=false --mcsaddr="192.168.1.1" --dpndomain="/clients" --logfile="C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\avagen
t_cmdline.log"
avagent Info <5241>: Logging to C:\DOCUME~1\user\LOCALS~1\Temp\avagent_cmdline
.log
C:\Program Files\avs\bin>goto :start_agent

C:\Program Files\avs\bin>net start
