PowerFlex 3.X: How to manually add an SDS or SDC node to a running Windows SIO Cluster

Instructions

Process:

  1. Identify the node where SDS or SDC will be added to the cluster.
  2. Install the relevant version of the SDS or SDC driver to the node.
  3. Install the SDS msi, log in to Cluster (Primary MDM), and issue the scli command to add the SDS and its devices to relevant Protection Domain and Storage Pool.
scli --add_sds --sds_ip <IPs> --device_path <devices> --sds_name <name> --protection_domain_name <protection domain name> --storage_pool_name <NAME>

 

  1. Install SDC msi following the example below, so that this node can consume storage from the existing SIO Cluster.
msiexec /i <sdc_path.msi> MDM_IP=<IP of MDM 1>,<IP of MDM 2>,<IP of MDM 3>
