Avamar: Administrator UI reports an Incorrect Data Domain status due to a large ost.log
Summary: The log "ost.log" stored on the Data Domain (DD) can get too large causing SNMP issues between Avamar and Data Domain.

Symptoms
The ost.log is larger than 25M on the Data Domain (DD). See How To Access a Data Domain System from an Avamar Server for information about logging in to DD from Avamar and access bash mode.

Reviewing the log rotate configuration confirms that it is not correct:
head -1 /etc/logrotate.d/ost.log

The ost.log is not rotating properly due to an incorrect configuration.
Resolution
1. Create a Service Request with the Dell Data Domain support team to assist with review and potential edit of /etc/logrotate.d/ost.log.
