The power supply shows failed in the show module command:

Cause
This is a hardware issue.
Resolution
This only effects the MDS 9700 switches
The logic inside the power supply that interfaces the system bus is bad. That is why the issue occurs no matter which supplies are active. After 20 failures, the sup disables the tests.
Workaround:

- Replace the power supply x <-- PS showing failed
- Restart the diagnostics:
diagnostic start module x test 10 <-- x being active supervisorThe issue is related to Cisco issue CSCup64117 however in the issue, this happens after a replacement.
