How to install Group Policy Management on a Server Core installation of Windows Server

Instructions

Perform the following steps to install Group Policy Management (GPMC) on a server running Windows Server Core.

  1. Open an elevated PowerShell prompt.
  2. Type Install-WindowsFeature GPMC and press Enter to install GPMCScreenshot of the output of "Install-WindowsFeature GPMC" in Powershell

Additional Information

Installing Group Policy Management on Windows Server Core does not allow the graphical console to be launched on the server. It allows limited control of Group Policy Objects (GPOs) using PowerShell.
