What is the password reveal button?
Dell computer users may encounter an icon in a password prompt, that resembles an eye. This icon is the password reveal button (Figure 1 [English Only]).

Cause
This password reveal button is a feature of Internet Explorer 10 and is found on Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers with IE 10 installed.
Resolution
How do I disable the password reveal button?
To disable the password reveal button, follow these steps:
- Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows Key + R.
- Type gpedit.msc and press Enter to open Local Group Policy editor (Figure 2 [English Only]).
