Symptoms

  • A VM FLR is performed using the NetWorker VMware Protection (NVP) vProxy appliance. 
  • The FLR mount process fails with the following error:

Cause

The vCenter user account used by NetWorker is missing Guest Operations permissions.

Resolution

Verify ALL the permissions listed in Minimum required vCenter user account privileges are applied. You can verify which permissions are missing with the ProxyHC utility:

The syntax required is:
./ProxyHC perm

The /tmp/proxy-hc.log will detail which permissions are missing.
