Connectix: Brocade: CallHome test event Failed: Response code:401

Symptoms

The switch is configured correctly and online in ESRS, but the CallHome test is not working.

switch:admin esrsconfig --testcall
CallHome test event Failed: Response code:401

Unable to delete the configuration and re-configure too as the delete option also reports the same error.

Switch admin> esrsconfig --delete
Delete product Failed: Response code:401

 

Cause

This issue occurs when there are below three scenarios:

  • There is no user level refresh at the ESRS level due to profile migrations from emc.com to dell.com
  • The user credentials used are incorrect
  • ESRS backend issue

 

Resolution

Work around:
Log in as root and try to add the user credentials on one of the switches which is currently not able to send the connecthome.
The following command syntax should be used:

esrsconfig --add -user <Dell_username> -password <Dell_password>

Once this has been done, try to send a new test CallHome using command esrsconfig --testcall’ and check if it is successful.
