This article explains offline upgrade of PowerFlex Manager:
NOTE: This does not apply to PFxM 4.x and later. NFS is depreciated for RCM/IC activities in 4.x and later.

- 3.2.x >> 3.5.x
- 3.3.x >> 3.5.x
- 3.4.x >> 3.5.x
- 3.5.x >> 3.6.x
- 3.6.x >> 3.7.x
- 3.7.x >> 3.8.x
Take note of the current version of the PowerFlex Manager.
Click the "?' icon on the upper right corner of the UI and click "About' to find the current version.

Procedure:
1) Perform a backup of the appliance. See PowerFlex Manager 3.X- How to backup PowerFlex Manager appliance | Dell US
2) Take a snapshot of the PowerFlex Manager appliance.
3) Download the PowerFlex Manager .zip file needed for an upgrade from Dell Support Site
4) Once there, download the appropriate PowerFlex Manager .zip file.
5) SSH to the PowerFlex Manager to create a directory 'upgrade' under /var/nfs and give complete permission to the directory. Copy the Dell-PFxM-3.x.x.xxxx.zip file to new directory created under path /var/nfs/upgrade in PowerFlex Manager using WinSCP or a similar program.
After Copying the File using WinSCP to the path, Verify it in PowerFlex Manager CLI using 'ls -lrth'
Note: Once the upgrade of the PowerFlex Manager is completed remove the created folder from /var/nfs example 'upgrade' using the below command.
rm -rf /var/nfs/upgrade
6a) Log into the PowerFlex Manager Web UI and go to Settings -> Virtual Appliance Management and click Edit next to Appliance Upgrade Settings.
6b) Select the second radio button "Update Appliance from local repository path"
6c) Enter the path to the file: 127.0.0.1:/var/nfs/upgrade/Dell-PFxM-3.x.x.xxxx.zip
6d) Enter credentials used to log in to the PowerFlex Manager CLI session and save it.
7) In the Appliance Upgrade Settings, you will now see the new version that you want to upgrade to listed as the Available Virtual Appliance Version.
8) When ready to perform the upgrade, click the Update Virtual Appliance button in the Virtual Appliance Management settings page.
Note: Update can take up to 60 minutes and will reboot the PowerFlex appliance during the process.
9) Once the update completes, the login page comes back up and you can log in and verify that the version has been updated? -> About in upper right
Note: This upgrade does not affect any services that have been added to PowerFlex Manager it only affects access to the PowerFlex Manager Web UI.
