PowerFlex 3.X: SDC 3.6-400.107 installation fails on Windows nodes

Symptoms

Operating System: Windows (Any)
SDC version: 3.6.0.4 

When installing SDC v3.6.0.4, it fails with the below error. 
There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

In the setupapi.dev.log(located in %SystemRoot%\inf) you would see the below errors.

When performing an upgrade to v3.6.0.4, setupapi.dev.log fails to set the MDM IPs.

Called to update with inf C:\Program Files\EMC\scaleio\sdc\bin\driver_package\\scini.inf
Error (0x2):Error in SetupCopyOEMInf,The system cannot find the file specified.
Doing update with inf C:\Program Files\EMC\scaleio\sdc\bin\driver_package\\scini.inf
Successfully updated driver. Reboot needed 1
 

Cause

The drv_cfg.exe which is part of the v3.6.0.4 package is corrupted.

Resolution

Upgrade or Install SDC for Windows version 3.6.0.5 and above.

If similar errors are observed in later SDC versions, ensure that the latest Windows update is installed.
