Symptoms
User complains about poor performance when using Storage VMware vSphere vMotion (SVmotion) against a Live Volume.
Cause
The VAAI version of copy offload (Extended Copy) is not supported for Live Volumes. This is to avoid issues where the source and destination are not primary on the same system, and issues associated with primary and secondary swapping roles during the middle of a copy.
Resolution
ESXi reverts to VMware vSphere vMotion network to complete the copy process, this may however be slower.
Alternatively, delete the live volume and complete SVmotion.
Alternatively, delete the live volume and complete SVmotion.
