Data Domain: Unable to create file system on DD6400

Symptoms
Issue:
- DD FileSystem (DDFS) cannot be created on DD6400 during initial configuration.
- DD6400 only
- All DDOS Versions
- During initial deployment, a DD6400 fails to create DDFS due to issues with NVRAM.
- The system displays all Disks as "in use" even though the Active Tier is not created.

- Attempts to create the DDFS (# filesys create) fail with the following error:
**** The available HDD does not meet the requirements to create a File System. 8 HDD devices are required to be added in Head Unit to create the File System.
Cause
- DIMM on NVRAM card is not seated properly (See Data Domain: DD6400 - Reboot loop at "NVRAM driver load and initialization" ).
- NVRAM card is not seated properly in its slot
- NVRAM card is defective.
Resolution
Resolution of this issue requires assistance from Dell Technical support. Open a Case with Dell Technical Support or your support provider and mention this article.
