Services Plugin Basics:

Purpose of Services Plugin:

  • Simplifies integration with OM Enterprise - installs directly into the OpenManage Enterprise Appliance
  • Gives the same case creation and log capabilities of Secure Connect Gateway

Installing Services Plugin(Online):

  • Inside OM Enterprise, browse to Application Settings > Console and Plugins
  • Click the refresh button to dynamically pull updates from downloads.dell.com/openmanage_enterprise
  • Under the plugins section, there is an option to install a Services plugin
  • Install the plugin

Installing Services Plugin(Offline):

  • Brows to downloads.dell.com/openmanage_enterprise/plugins/saep/
  • Pull the "plugin_catalog.json," the "plugin_catalog.json.asc" and the archives folder and copy them to a Network File Share (NFS) or http share
  • Inside OM Enterprise, browse to Application Settings > Console and Plugins
  • Ensure that update settings are pointing to NFS and or HTTP share
  • Under the plugins section, there is an option to install the Services Plugin
  • Install the plugin

Services Plugin Registration:

Registration Basics:

  • The plugin does absolutely nothing without registration
  • Required to reach the following two URLs on the Internet
    • https://esrs3-core.emc.com
    • https://esrs3-coredr.emc.com

Registration Workflow:

  • Get an access Key and Pin according to Generate Access Key and PIN for Dell Products
  • Post installation you should get a prompt to Register Now, otherwise you get a banner from the Site Health page
  • Fill out your Proxy if needed
  • On the Connectivity page, fill it out with your key and pin
  • Now finish out the wizard with Contact Details
