Cause

Brocade TruFOS Certificates are required on the following Brocade platforms beginning with Fabric OS v9.1.0:

  • Brocade Gen 6 Directors
  • Brocade Gen 7 Directors
  • Brocade Gen 6 G630 (switch types 173 and 184)

From the following commands output, notice that there is no TruFOS installed and the current FOS is 9.0.1e1, and determine the switchType from the switchshow output.

    Additional Information

In the situation where a TruFOS Certificate has expired, there is no impact to the operation, connectivity, or any other behavior related to SAN fabric operations. The only functional restriction is not being able to load the FOS level from which Brocade TruFOS Certificates are required:
    • All enterprise switches and directors (ED-X7-8/4, ED-X6-8/4, DS-7730, and DS-6630) FOS v9.1.0 or later releases
    • All midrange and entry switches (DS-7720, DS-6620, DS-6610 and MP-7810) FOS v9.2.0 or later releases
