Cause

Impact

Unable to ingest the MDS system as a resource group.

Root Cause

In an HCI environment, the vCenter has been added to the PFxM inventory. PFxM utilizes the vCenter switches to generate items in the wizard. These items consist of dropdown network objects derived from the vSwitches. If the vCenter includes extra network port groups that are unrelated to the PowerFlex MDS system, these port groups will be incorporated as selectable items in the wizard. If these additional items in the wizard are mapped to PFxM network objects, it may lead to the errors mentioned above.

In this scenario, the flex-oob and flex-data1 network objects pertain to the Production PowerFlex system, not the MDS system. This distinction is the reason for the observed error, indicating that the network objects could not be reserved.

Resolution

Workaround

When associating dropdown networks in the wizard, ensure that only the items relevant to the MDS system are utilized. If there are additional items present in the wizard, leave the unrelated items unselected.
