Symptoms

There will be an error message: “You have attached a power adapter to a port that does not accept power. Attach a power adapter to your system’s power port.”
This appears when connecting the AC adapter and Type-C device that supports USB-C charging.
Power Adapter Error

Cause

The system does not support USB-C charging. Connecting an external device that provides USB-C charging will have this message appear.
