Symptoms
When updating DNS or other network configurations, the following error message appears and the settings cannot be updated.
The search domain value is missing or the specified value is not valid
Cause
Customer FQDN's top-level domain is more than six characters.
Search domain validation considers only regular top-level domains such as .com, .net, so on.
