Dell Computers Released in 2024 and Later May Have Hardware That is Not Supported in Windows 10

Summary: Information about hardware that is not supported in Windows 10 on Dell computers that were released in 2024 and later.

This article applies to This article does not apply to This article is not tied to any specific product. Not all product versions are identified in this article.

Symptoms

Dell computers released in 2024 and later may include hardware that the Windows 10 Operating System does not support. Hardware vendors are no longer assured of building drivers that are compatible with Windows 10.

If an unsupported operating system installation is attempted, problems can be expected with driver support for any hardware (audio, video, network adapter, or such). This is due to lack of driver support for that hardware.

Cause

Dell is not licensed to sell computers with the Windows 10 Operating System in 2024. Due to this limitation, Dell hardware vendors only provide drivers for the operating systems available with the computers sold.

Resolution

Windows 10 Drivers

End Users attempting to install Windows 10 or other Operating Systems outside the Dell Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Operating System must source their own drivers. Dell cannot provide drivers for unsupported Operating Systems.

Dell does support the OEM operating system and upgrades to those Operating Systems.
