Symptoms
Your Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse may experience either of the following problems:
- The Dots Per Inch (DPI) drops without any input from you.
- Your mouse gets slower and is hard to use.
Cause
The Alienware Command Center (AWCC) application sends a command to the mouse to clean all the DPI fields and resets to the lowest DPI.
Resolution
Note: You must have administrator rights on your PC to make any operating system changes or update any software.
The following instructions take you through recovering your device from the mouse problem:
Run a factory reset using the Alienware Command Center (AWCC), and update to the new Firmware version. Clicking Save Preset.
- Go to Settings.
- Then go to Update.
- Click Restore Factory Defaults and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Update the Mouse and Dongle Firmware to version 0.2.8.4h.
Update using AWCC or Update on our Drivers and Download Site - File name: AlienwareProWirelessGamingMouse_v0.2.8.4.exe - Click the Save Preset button (This step is mandatory regardless of whether you have customized your new profile settings or not.)
Update to the latest available version of the AWCC application to prevent this problem from recurring.
Update the application installer to Alienware Command Center 6.x - Full Installer for Alienware and Dell G Series, version 6.6
