Symptoms

When restarting an Alienware 16 Area-51 AA16250 or Alienware 18 Area-51 AA18250, it may fail to boot. The computer’s power LED flashes 1 red and 6 blue.

Cause

A watchdog timeout failure in the BIOS embedded controller causes this.

Resolution
