Connectrix: Brocade: Unable to HAreboot while firmware upgrade

Symptoms

Error message:

Can't do hareboot because system is not ready yet or other LS/HA config is in progress, rc = -1


This error was seen when the Standby partition was upgraded to 8.2.3e2 and above to perform hareboot. 

Manual hareboot of the switch and starting the firmware upgrade again did not help. 

Cause

Possible cause:

1) High CPU usage

2) High Memory usage 

Resolution

-- Reboot of switch and perform the firmware upgrade once switch is online.

NOTE: Precautions as the reboot are disruptive:

1) Initiate a downtime.

2) Validate the Multipathing on all the Hosts accessing the switch

3) Take a configuration back-up from the switch.
