GB08030-2022 Chinese code character set
Note: This article applies to All Windows client and server Operating Systems.
GB 18030 is the Chinese ideographic character set and encoding standard mandated by the Chinese government. Update 2022 supports the extended character support, and is effective August 1, 2023.
Windows client and server operating system:
Microsoft provides updates to the operating system in June and July of 2023 to ensure that devices can meet the compliance requirement:
Preliminary Support Level:
Not Supported: Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2015
Level Two: Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2016
Level Three: Most Windows versions are still within an active support lifecycle
