Removing the left fan
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following image indicates the location of the left fan and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Remove the two (M2x4) screws and the single (M1.6x4) screw that secure the fan (FAN1) to the system board and palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
CAUTION:Do not hold the fan assembly at the center, as it may damage the center bearing.
- Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
- Lift the fan (FAN1) off the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
