Dell PowerProtect Cyber Recovery 19.14 Security Configuration Guide

PDF

Deployment model

The Cyber Recovery vault is a highly secure part of the data center that hosts infrastructure on a dedicated and separate network. By default, the only connection between the production-side DD system and the vault-side DD system is the MTree replication link that is used for synchronization of data during specified intervals. By taking the target-side DD replication port offline, the data link is "air gapped," which reduces the attack surface. The Cyber Recovery vault infrastructure is hardened as part of the service delivery.

NOTE: References to DD systems in this documentation, in the Cyber Recovery UI, and elsewhere in the product include DD systems and Data Domain systems.

The following figure illustrates the deployment model:

NOTE:

You can deploy the Cyber Recovery vault on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Contact your Dell sales representative for details.
