Removing the system fan

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery
    2. hard drive
    3. optical drive
    4. base cover
  3. To remove the system fan:
    1. Unroute the system fan cable [1].
    2. Disconnect the system fan cable [2].
    3. Remove the screw that secures the system fan to the computer [3].
    4. Lift the system fan away from the computer [4].
