Update firmware

After powering on the storage system for the first time, verify that the controller modules, expansion modules, and disk drives are using the current firmware release.

NOTE:Expansion module firmware is updated automatically with controller module updates.
  1. Using the PowerVault Manager, select Action > Update Firmware in the System topic.

    The Update Firmware panel opens. The Update Controller Modules tab shows versions of firmware components that are installed in each controller module.

  2. Locate firmware updates at www.dell.com/support. If newer versions of the firmware are available, download the bundle file or relevant firmware component files.
  3. Click Browse, select the firmware bundle file or component file to install, and then click OK.

When the update is complete, the system restarts.
