Removing the Thermal Sensor

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. left cover
    2. right cover
    3. air tunnel (if available)
  3. Perform the following steps:
    1. Disconnect the thermal-sensor cable from the system board [1].
    2. Unroute the thermal-sensor cable through the chassis clips [2].

  4. Unroute the thermal-sensor cable from its securing clips on the chassis.

  5. Open the latch securing the thermal sensor and remove it from the computer.
