Upgrading Unisphere for PowerMax using silent install

About this task

Unisphere for PowerMax supports silent install upgrades. During an upgrade, a response file and –f options are not required as the installer takes the parameters from previously deployed persistent files.

When using the silent install option, the terms of the license agreement are accepted automatically.

To perform a silent install upgrade, complete the following steps:

Steps

Run one of the following commands:
  • For Linux: UNIVMAX_aa.bb.cc.dd_RELEASE_LINUX_X86_64.bin
  • For Windows: UNIVMAX_aa.bb.cc.dd_RELEASE_WINDOWS_X86_64.exe

In the installation file name:

  • aa is the major release number.
  • bb is the minor release number.
  • cc is the service release number.
  • dd is the patch number.
NOTE:For Windows, you can use start /wait to end the command execution: start /wait UNIVMAX_aa.bb.cc.dd_RELEASE_WINDOWS_X86_64.exe -i silent
