Removing the fan
CAUTION:The information in this section is intended for authorized service technicians only.
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the SIM card.
- Remove the base cover.
About this task
The following image(s) indicate the location of the fan and provides a visual representation of the removal procedure.
Steps
- Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
- Remove the fan cable from the routing guides on the palm-rest assembly.
- Remove the two screws (M2x4) that secure the fan to the palm-rest assembly.
- Lift the fan off the palm-rest assembly.
