Removing the System Board

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD card
    2. battery
    3. access panel
    4. memory module
    5. hard drive
    6. optical drive
    7. keyboard
    8. palmrest
    9. WLAN card
  3. Disconnect the following cables:
    1. display cable
    2. power-connector port cable
    3. speaker cable
    4. I/O board cable
    5. Touch cable (for touch computer only)

  4. Remove the screw that secures the system board to the computer. Lift the system board from the computer.
